Light Sussex
Light sussex are a dual purpose breed, kept for both their good sized light coloured eggs and their good weight for meat purposes. They tend to lay an average of around 200 light pinkish eggs per year and don't often go broody. Weight wise they can reach around 4kg for a male and 3kg for a female.
They have the look of what alot of people consider a classic farmyard hen with white body, black collar, tail and wing tips and a red comb.
Seven other colours of Sussex are available.
We keep Light Sussex in Large Fowl.
